Pakistan's cricketer Iftikhar Ahmed lashes out at the journalists during the post-match press conference of the recently-concluded tournament Champions One-Day Cup 2024. Ahmed lost his cool in the conference after his team lost the finals against Shadab Khan's Panthers. He blamed the journalists for spoiling the environment of cricket by praising a player based on his performance in just one game.
"For god's sake, let a player succeed in all formats in domestic cricket, then talk about him. You guys talk so much, like 'Pakistan has got another Inzamam.' I am not against anyone. I am telling everyone to give domestic cricket its due respect. Aap logon ki wajah se cricket ka jo sara mahaul hai woh kharab ho gaya hai (The cricketing environment has deteriorated because of you)," said Iftikhar Ahmed.

Playing for Markhors', Ahmed was absolutely disappointed with the performance of the team as they scored only 122 runs even after winning the toss. Panthers' bowling was top-notch as they dismissed the opponent in just 33 overs. All of Ahmed's frustrations were completely valid, as a lot was already going on in the Pakistan camp.
Pakistan's selector Mohammad Yousuf resigns from post
After a disappointing performance in the T20 World Cup 2024, Pakistan's selector Mohammad Yousuf resigned from his post. Although he cited that it was due to some personal reasons, he took this decision, but considering the ongoing turmoil in the Pakistan camp, Yousuf placed his resignation. The Pakistan team is going through a lot because of controversy and criticism regarding the team selection. After his resignation, the atmosphere became worse. Pakistan are set to play against England in a 3-match Test series, starting on 7th October.
"I announce my resignation as a selector for the Pakistan cricket team due to personal reasons. Serving this incredible team has been a profound privilege, and I am proud to have contributed to the growth and success of Pakistan Cricket," said Mohammad Yousuf.
