Delhi Capitals (DC) beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the super over on Wednesday in the Indian Premier League (IPL) game. Veteran Australian pacer Mitchell Starc was the star with the ball for DC as the left-arm seamer ensured the game ended in a tie. At the end of the game, RR posted a short video where Yashasvi Jaiswal could be seen calling Starc ‘Legend’.

Nitish Rana was seen speaking to Starc as Jaiswal joined the duo and the pacer asked, “How are you, youngster? How are you?” Jaiswal responded by saying, “Very well bowled. Crazy, and then asked the pacer if he was having fun in Delhi, to which the bowler nodded in the affirmative.

Both Jaiswal and Nitish Rana had scored 51 runs each with Rajasthan chasing down the 189-run target set by Delhi. The Indian opener had hit Starc for a huge six in what was one of his four sixes for the day. The veteran seamer ended his day with one for 36 from his four overs and also gave away just 11 runs in the super over.

Mitchell Starc makes massive statement on ‘saliva’ theory

BCCI decided to lift the ban on usage of saliva, which was banned for a period of time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many bowlers have said that the end of the ban has helped the bowlers who are known to bowl reverse swing. When asked to give his take on the ‘Saliva’ theory, Mitchell Starc decided to downplay it.

The Aussie seamer said, “I don't use it. I think it's a myth. Some people think they swear by it. I don't know what the difference is with sweat and saliva. I don't reckon it makes a difference. It can make a difference on the red ball. I don't reckon it makes a difference on the white ball.”

Delhi Capitals skipper Axar Patel also waded into the debate at the end of the game and said, “Since we can use saliva this season, and since there isn't much grass on the surface, you can get the ball to reverse. I feel it's fair for bowlers, given how the grounds are, and how batsmen's bats are, and how runs keep flowing."
