Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli finally seemed to find some form with the bat during the third day of the first Test in Perth. The 36-year-old was facing Mitchell Starc when he got a short ball outside the off stump. Virat Kohli went for an upper cut as the ball flew to the third man boundary.

Just as the ball went past the boundary on the full, a security guard sitting on the chair was hit on the head. Australian medical team and spin bowler Nathan Lyon went to check on him. Even the commentators were worried about the ball hitting the security guard as Kohli also looked at him with concern on his face.

Virat Kohli was out for just five runs in the first innings when he was caught by Usman Khawaja off Josh Hazlewood. In the second innings the former India skipper came out with positive intent and even played a straight drive to show glimpses of his old form with the bat.

Sanjay Manjrekar offers advice to Virat Kohli

Former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar during his chat with Star Sports said that Virat Kohli knows what Australian bowlers will plan. Manjrekar said "I think Virat knows exactly what's going to be planned. They'll start with that line outside the off stump and gauge what his mindset is. These days, he often leaves balls outside off and looks to drive anything pitched up,"

During the course of his chat with the same channel, Manjrekar also praised Yashasvi Jaiswal. The left-handed batter scored a brilliant century during the third day of the opening game in Perth before getting out for 161.

Sanjay Manjrekar said “The square cut- he plays it a little later, which may not be ideal, but the back foot punch is something to love now in both those shots that you see there guys well, the new King likes to be on the back foot, unlike the reigning king who wants to be on the front foot, and as a result of that, he got 64% of the runs behind square. And that's something I think Virat Kohli might just want to have a look at because that's an area where he doesn't look to score off at all,"
