Virat Kohli is known as one of the best fielders in the world in all the formats. He has taken some extraordinary catches and done some brilliant run-outs as well. This time, in the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar trophy 2024 against Australia, Kohli dropped a sitter of Marnus Labuschagne who has played nine balls but hasn't scored a single run yet.
The batter was seen struggling against Bumrah when the bowler made full use of the situation and bowled a fullish delivery angling in and then nipping away. The ball went straight to the second slip where Kohli was standing. He didn't have to move much but couldn't manage to keep the ball in his hands for a longer time frame.
Everyone started running in excitement, thinking it was a wicket. However, Kohli signalled that he didn't take the catch, disappointing the fielders. Jasprit Bumrah was super elated as he gestured around Marnus, but has to be disappointed in the end.

This is a very rare occasion for Kohli to drop a catch in the slips. The bowlers are trying their best to create chances and take wickets. Australia lost three quick wickets and looks in a similar condition India were in a few hours ago. In 7 overs, Australia are 19-3.
India scored 150 runs in the first innings against Australia
India's performance in the first Test match was extremely disappointing as they scored just 150 runs in the first innings. The Australian bowling attack didn't allow the batters to settle down at any point. It was only Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and debutant Nitish Reddy who did well with the bat.
While Rahul scored 26 runs and was given out unfairly, Reddy scored 41 runs and Pant scored 37 runs. Thanks to these batters, India crossed the 100-run mark, which looked impossible at one point. Now, everything depends upon the bowlers and the way they attack the Australian batters.
