There was a hilarious moment witnessed during the SRH batting innings involving Kohli and Dinesh Karthik. The former Indian wicketkeeper and batter is with RCB as one of the coaches after hanging up his boots post the 2024 season. Karthik could be seen giving the team talk during the second innings.

Coach Andy Flower and Phil Salt were also part of the circle, with Virat Kohli seemingly enjoying the chat. Kohli was seen hilariously nodding his head to everything Karthik had to say. Andy Flower, known for his serious attitude on the field, also burst into laughter.

Ajit Agarkar reveals new details on Kohli’s Test retirement

Meanwhile, former Indian captain Virat Kohli hung up his boots from the Test format nearly two weeks ago. The 36-year-old had decided to call time on his career after playing 123 games and scoring over 9000 runs with 30 Test centuries. This decision left many in shock but chief selector Ajit Agarkar finally broke his silence over the matter.

Agarkar was addressing the media after announcing India’s squad for the tour of England. Speaking to the media, the former India pacer said “When guys like that retire, it's always going to be big holes to fill. Even Ashwin retired a few months back. All those guys are stalwarts of Indian cricket. It’s always difficult. One way to look at it is that it's an opportunity for someone else.”

“Obviously, I've had conversations with both of them over the last couple of months. Virat obviously reached out in early April and said he wants to finish," further added Ajit Agarkar about Virat Kohli’s Test retirement. For the unversed, Shubman Gill is the new Test captain, while the likes of Mohammed Shami and Sarfaraz Khan were dropped for the five-match series.
