India were not in the ‘very good’ position at the end of the fourth day’s play in the ongoing third Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Rohit Sharma’s men had posted a total of 252 runs for the loss of 9 wickets at the time of stumps on the penultimate day of the game.
Amidst a bad patch for the Indian team in the Gabba Test, what attracted the eyeballs was the moment when India avoided the follow-on. It happened in the last over on the fourth day before the bad lights stopped the game. India’s ‘number 11’ batter Akash Deep was facing the Australia skipper Pat Cummins.
Akash Deep went on to hit a four off the second deliver of the over; it was a shot that avoided the follow-on for India, taking their score from 242 for 9 to 246 for 9. But just after this shot, the eye-catching moments came from the Indian dressing room where the former skipper, Virat Kohli was seen celebrating this moment ‘excitingly’, alongside the head coach Gautam Gambhir and skipper Rohit Sharma.
However, Akash Deep didn’t hold himself only to a four against Pat Cummins, the former smashed a huge six over the mid-wicket to take India’s score to 252 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.
Returning to the celebrations in the Indian dressing room, including Virat Kohli just after avoiding the follow-on, the video of this moment is now surfacing on social media as soon as it was shared by a fan.

They had also stitched an unbeaten partnership of 39 runs for the last wicket at the time of ‘stumps.
