Indian pace ace Jasprit Bumrah has been the best player for the visiting side during their ongoing tour of Australia. The 31-year-old has already picked 18 wickets so far, including his 6/76 in the first innings of the game. Bumrah was addressing the media when he had everyone in splits when he came up with a funny reply to a question asked.

Star Sports uploaded a video of a journalist asking Bumrah, “Hi Jasprit, first of all, what is your assessment of the batting? Although you are not the best person to ask this question, the current situation of the team right now, is it a bit frustrating. Has it become frustrating for you that you are not getting the support that there aren’t too many bowlers who are picking regular wickets?"

Jasprit Bumrah replied with a perplexed look on his face and said, “Yeah, it is an interesting question that you are questioning my batting ability so far. I think you should use Google as well and see who’s got the most number of runs in an over.” This left the others in splits, as India’s ace bowler too had a smile on his face.

Jasprit Bumrah backs bowling unit to come good

Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Rana, and Akash Deep have come under the scanner for not helping Bumrah enough with the ball. During the media scrum, India’s pace ace was asked if he felt the pressure of delivering for the team fall on his shoulders.

The 31-year-old said, “Jokes apart, that’s another story, but as a team, we don’t point fingers at each other. We don’t want to get into that mindset where we are pointing fingers at each other where we say, ‘you should do this, you should do that.' Obviously, we as a team are going through transition. A lot of new players are coming here, and it’s not the easiest place to play cricket over here; it’s a different atmosphere with this wicket being a different challenge.

“So yeah, we aren’t looking at that as a bowling unit; we are in transition, so it’s my job to help the others. I have played a little more than them, so I am trying to help them, but again, everyone will learn through it and get better and eventually will find better ways, so this is the journey you will have to go through,” Bumrah further added.
