The string of low scores continues for Indian skipper Rohit Sharma as he failed for yet another time against Australia in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024. Rohit was left clueless against a fuller-length delivery bowled by his Aussie counterpart Pat Cummins on the fourth day of the ongoing third Test at the Gabba in Brisbane.

Sharma scored only 10 runs in the first innings; it was the first double-digit individual score on the current Australia tour. Earlier in the second Test at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide, he scored only 3 and 6 in the first and second innings, respectively.

Meanwhile, the former England skipper, Michael Vaughan had some harsh words to say while speaking about the Indian skipper. Vaughan also questioned Rohit’s approach to the delivery, on which Pat Cummins dismissed him.

He had no answer - Michael Vaughan on Rohit Sharma's dismissal

In the first innings of the ongoing third Test, the Aussie skipper trapped his Indian counterpart with a short-pitched deliver which compelled the latter to go on the backfoot. Later, Sharma was full of expectations for a second successive short-pitched ball. However, Cummins changed his move and bowled a fuller one which took the edge off Rohit’s back before going safely into the hands of wicketkeeper Alex Carey.

Michael Vaughan also questioned the same approach of Rohit Sharma and called him out for having ‘no answer’ to the delivery bowled by Pat Cummins.

Pat Cummins was right up there and Rohit Sharma had no answer. It was very timid for him. He was expecting a different delivery but got something different,” said Michael Vaughan.

Speaking of the current action of the ongoing third Test, India have avoided the follow-on; they have scored 252 runs for the loss of 9 wickets before the bad light interrupted the fourth day’s play. Opener KL Rahul and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja stood for India amidst a collapse of the batting line up. Rahul and Jadeja played the crucial knocks of 84 and 77 runs to help India go past 200 and avoid the follow-on.
