Indian batting great Virat Kohli has faced a slum in form and has been under the scanner for a while now. His problems with the deliveries bowled outside the off stump have become very evident. He is expected to return to playing domestic cricket for Delhi against Railways in the Ranji Trophy 224-25.

Ahead of the much-anticipated comeback, Kohli was seen with former Indian coach Sanjay Bangar in Mumbai, trying to get back his touch. The two go back a long way, as Bangar was the Indian batting coach from 2014 to 2019 during Kohli's captaincy.

The 52-year-old seemed to be specifically addressing Kohli's outside off stump issue. He was seen giving Kohli some throwdowns and bowling at different lengths around the outside off stump line. Much to the relief of fans, the 36-year-old played some good shots to tackle his issue.

Virat Kohli prepares for Ranji Trophy comeback

The Delhi-born cricketer would look to get a good knock in the Ranji Trophy to try and get some burden off his shoulders. He hasn't played a game in the tournament since 2012, when Delhi took on Uttar Pradesh.

The former Indian skipper will play Delhi's next game against Railways on the 30th of January under Ayush Badoni's leadership. Kohli was expected to play the last game against Saurashtra but was sidelined due to a stiff neck.

The Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) is planning to accommodate 10,000 spectators for free to arrange a spectacle for their greatest star's return.

Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh's father, Yograj Singh, has backed Virat and Rohit Sharma to come back strong. "I have always felt that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli should not be dropped. If you drop them, then your team will fall apart. We may have lost in Australia, but we should not forget that we have beaten them in two series too," he said in an interview with ANI.
