Ahead of his much-anticipated comeback, the veteran batter bonded with his Delhi teammates over a game of circle football. All players were seen holding hands in the circle, with two in the middle. The players in the middle aimed to intercept the passes from other players to try and switch positions with them.

Virat seemed in a fun mood as he dodged a high pass to avoid getting in the middle. He burst into laughter after having dodged the ball. A video from the team bonding session has been doing the rounds on the internet.

Virat Kohli's poor run of form with the bat has triggered his comeback to playing domestic cricket. The recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy raised a lot of questions about some of the senior players' place on the team. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat's dismal performances were one of the major reasons that India failed to defend the title.

Many former players and experts called out the two and questioned why they had not played any domestic games to get back their touch. Rohit and Virat, along with other members of the team, then opted to play in the second phase of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25.

Mumbai's Rohit Sharma played the game against Jammu & Kashmir but was not very effective, scoring three and 28 runs, respectively. The 37-year-old is not expected to return for the next game against Meghalaya.

On the other hand, Virat was expected to play against Saurashtra but had to drop out because of neck stiffness. He will be eager to comeback and do well against Railways.
