Delhi head coach Sarandeep Singh made it official that Kohli will be there in Delhi’s practice session on Tuesday, January 28. The batting stalwart has already made it to Delhi for his Ranji Trophy appearance. The Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) has also included Kohli in the Delhi squad for their game against Railways.

Meanwhile, DDCA secretary Ashok Sharma spoke about the special security arrangements at the home venue.

We will attempt to ensure there is no inconvenience - Ashok Sharma

Sharma spoke about DDCA’s request to Delhi Police for increased security as the national icon Virat Kohli will be playing in the Ranji Trophy after a long wait of 12 years and things have changed completely between then and now.

“The Delhi Police will receive a letter from us. We have enhanced our private security, so we have initiated all these arrangements, and we will attempt to ensure there is no inconvenience for the fans when they come on January 30 to see the match,” said Ashok Sharma to PTI.

“Usually only one stand remains open for the Ranji trophy games, but Sharma said three stands will be operational for this match. "Gate Nos. 7, 15, and 16 will be public. We will arrange drinking water, and the toilets will be clean and hygienic. Come and enjoy the match. Of course, there will be security checks before allowing the public to enter,” he added later.
