Virat Kohli and Smriti Mandhana are two superstars of Indian men's and women's cricket. While Kohli is considered the 'King of Cricket', Smriti is known as the 'Queen of Cricket' in India. Although the former India captain is far ahead in terms of achievements and fan following, his female counterpart is definitely a ‘top-scorer’ in her category.

The star duo also play for the same franchise - Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) - in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Women's Premier League (WPL), respectively. Meanwhile, Kohli and Smriti were seen together in the latest advertisement for Royal Challenge, a liquor brand which the team RCB is named after.

On Tuesday (September 17), Kohli shared an ad video of the company's packaged drinking water featuring him and the RCB women's team skipper on his official X handle. The 35-year-old cheered for “Naya Sher” Smriti Mandhana and mentioned that Jersey No. 18 belongs to someone who makes India proud.  

“The spirit of #ChooseBold is what drives us to face our fears! From one Jersey 18 to another, I'm here to cheer for the "Naya Sher" @mandhana_smriti. Join me in celebrating the bold journeys of our Naya Shers this cricket season. Are you ready to roar? Stay tuned!,” Kohli wrote on X.

Kohli gears up for Test return after eight months

The upcoming two-match Test series will mark the return of Kohli in Test cricket after eight months. Kohli last played a Test match against South Africa in January. He opted out of the subsequent England series at home due to the birth of his son.

The riveting series against Bangla Tigers will start on September 19 at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. India are set to play a total of 10 Test matches from now till January 2025. Kohli will be expected to play a pivotal role as the Men in Blue look for a place in the World Test Championship (WTC) final for the third consecutive year.
