Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim was in the thick of the action during the Caribbean Premier League 2024 game. The 20th game of the league saw Antigua and Barbuda Falcons beat Trinbago Knight Riders by 6 wickets. During the game, a massive controversy erupted during the 10th over of the 2nd innings.
Sunil Narine hit Imad Wasim on the pads, and the Trinbago team went up for an appeal. The umpire gave the batter not out and Kieron Pollard went for the DRS. This is where all the controversy started. The third umpire gave the batter out despite the ball getting a clear inside edge.
Imad Wasim could be seen heading back into the dugout angry and showing his displeasure. Even many of the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons team management were seen demonstrating the decision.
More drama followed as the third umpire had a word with the on-field umpire. This time it was said that the decision was reversed and the batter was to be called back to bat. Kieron Pollard was later seen having a word with the umpire as the game was stalled for over 10 minutes.

Speaking at the end of the game, Pollard said, “The Falcons played really well. These things happen in cricket and we move on from that. If I speak, I'm getting into trouble so I would stay diplomatic. The fans came out in numbers and they supported us. We will look to bounce back stronger.”
