Suryakumar Yadav, the new T20I captain of the Indian cricket team, paid a visit to the iconic Yankee Stadium in New York. The venue is home to Major League Baseball’s New York Yankees and New York City FC of Major League Soccer. The baseball giants made Surya’s visit memorable by gifting him a customized jersey.

In a video circulating on social media, the Mumbai cricketer can be seen mesmerized by the view of the stadium known for its rich history. Appearing in a stylish look, especially after getting a haircut by leading hairstylist Aalim Hakim, Suriya opened his eyes wide and looked around the stadium.

The World No. 1 T20I batter was later presented with a New York Yankees jersey with his name (Surya) and number (63) on the back. Although the exact purpose of SKY's visit is unknown, it is believed that he was there as part of a promotional tour.

In his maiden assignment as T20I captain, Suryakumar led Team India to a 3-0 series win over Sri Lanka in the island nation in July. Notably, for his impressive performance with the bat, Surya was adjudged Player of the Series. It was his 16th POTS and he equalled Virat Kohli for the record in 56 fewer matches.

India's next T20 series is against Bangladesh in September. Since there is a decent amount of gap, Surya is set to feature for Mumbai in the Buchi Babu Invitational tournament in Tamil Nadu. He will be playing under the leadership of Sarfaraz Khan. It also hints that Surya may be eyeing a return to the Test team.

“I want to play for India in all three formats. Playing in Buchi Babu will give me good practice for the red-ball tournaments this season,” Suryakumar expressed his desire to keep playing in all three formats.
