Former Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar has been the topic of various memes on social media in recent times. This comes in the wake of his colour-coordinated outfits with noted presenter Mayanti Langer. On Tuesday, ahead of the Chennai Super Kings vs Rajasthan Royals (CSK vs RR) IPL 2025, the 75-year-old decided to have some fun with the noted presenter.

Star Sports India put out a short video where Mr Gavaskar could be seen saying that Langer and the co-anchor were colour coordinated. The 75-year-old also said that this is something he is famous for eliciting huge laughter in the studio. The moment has also gone viral on social media, with many fans joining in the banter.

It was a one-sided game on Tuesday night at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Sanju Smason and his side won the game by six wickets, leaving CSK in the bottom spot of the points. This was Rajasthan Royals’ final game of the season, while Chennai still has one match left to play before ending their IPL 2025 campaign.

CSK coach reflects on his team's performance this season

Stephen Fleming has time and again been asked about MS Dhoni’s future in the league after a horrendous 2025 campaign. The former New Zealand skipper could only utter “I don’t know” about MS Dhoni’s likely participation in the next edition. There are reports that Dhoni may come back for one season but that is still up in the air.

When asked about the team performance this season after the loss to RR, Fleming said, “We obviously don’t like being down there in the points table. We just wanted a good performance. We’re trying to string performances together. The aim was two good performances and now it’ll be one good performance to finish the season. It’s probably fitting we are at the bottom.”

For CSK, the few positives have come from their mid-season replacements in Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis’ performances. Mhatre top scored with the bat once again, scoring 43 off 20 balls, while Brevis was out after scoring 42 off 25 balls. Veteran spinner R. Ashwin was the best bowler for CSK with two wickets in what was a night to forget for MS Dhoni and his side.
