Star opener and RCB skipper Smriti Mandhana played a crucial half-century knock in the ongoing WPL 2025 game against Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W). She scored 53 runs off just 37 balls, with six fours and three sixes. Her knock played a vital role in helping her side post a big total on the board in the first innings.

Besides that, what attracted the eyeballs were the two sixes and over smashed by Smriti Mandhana over WPL 2025’s purple cap holder Amelia Kerr. This big over was the eighth over when Amelia Kerr was bowling to Mandhana. On the third ball of the over, Mandhana got down on her knees to launch Kerr’s ‘outside the off’ delivery for a six in the deep mid-wicket region.

Later, on the fifth ball of the over, Kerr bowled another ball outside the off stump, which was smashed by Mandhana over the bowler’s head for a big six. Later in the innings, the veteran all-rounder Ellyse Perry scored an unbeaten 49 runs off 38 balls, with five fours and a six, followed by wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh’s 36 runs off 22 balls, with five fours and a six.
