Ahead of the upcoming Bangladesh series, captain Rohit Sharma was seen running in the park and doing some exercises. The ODI and Test captain is prepping himself for the upcoming back-to-back tours, including Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Australia. The forthcoming Test matches are important since they fall under the WTC cycle, and India must retain their 1st position as England is coming after them.

England won their 1st Test match against Sri Lanka, and with this victory, they have moved up the WTC points table to fourth place. In 14 games, they have won 7 and will be looking forward to winning the upcoming games as well. While India and Australia sit comfortably in the first and second positions, they must fear England's revival and play accordingly in the upcoming games.

While skipper Sharma has started his preparations, the rest of the team will start with their practice soon. The Bangladesh series will start on September 19, after a gap of 40 days. Before that, most Indian players will be a part of the Duleep Trophy 2024, starting on September 5.

Rohit Sharma's performance against Bangladesh in Test matches

Interestingly, Rohit Sharma has played just three Test matches against Bangladesh and scored 33 runs. With this view, the skipper of the Indian team has a lot of responsibilities on himself, including the WTC cycle. Hence, the opener, Sharma, will have to give his best in the series against the neighbours, which will help India in the upcoming matches.

Moreover, after winning the 1st Test match against Pakistan, Bangladesh will be extremely confident about their team. With just one more game left before the start of the India series, the Bangla Tigers will have a lot on themselves. They are placed in the 6th position of the WTC 2025 points table with just two wins in five matches.
