Indian cricket star Shreyas Iyer saw his barren run of form continue in Duleep Trophy 2024. On Sunday, the India D skipper came out to bat at number five. Shreyas Iyer was out for a duck in the first innings just days after being dropped from the Test team.

Shreyas Iyer was batting on 41 when he was facing his Mumbai teammate Shams Mulani. On the final ball of the 47th over, Shams Mulani bowled a short ball to Iyer who went for a pull. The ball kept low and went onto hit the stumps as the 4th wicket fell.

Chasing 487 to win, India D were placed at 190/4 from 54 overs. Sanju Samson was batting on 17 runs from 24 balls with one four and 2 sixes. Ricky Bhui was the other batter not out on 85 off 145 balls.

Atharva Taide was out for a duck towards the end of the 3rd day when he was caught by Aaqib Khan off Khaleel Ahmed. Yash Dubey and Ricky Bhui then ensured that the team doesn’t lose any more wickets. Ricky Bhui in particular was aggressive against the bowlers and went past his fifty.

The start of the 4th day saw Yash Dubey get run out for 37 thanks to a brilliant piece of fielding from Shams Mulani. The Mumbai spinner struck once more when he got the wicket of Devdutt Padikkal. The left-handed batter went for a drive and saw the ball turn in sharply to disturb the stumps.

Shreyas Iyer hit 8 fours in his innings with a few delightful cover drives. Sanju Samson hit Shams Mulani and Tanush Kotian for two huge sixes. The 29-year-old was out for 5 in the first innings of the game. In the other game, India B were all out for 332 with opener and skipper Abhimanyu Eeswaran carrying his bat.

The right-handed batter scored 157 off 286 balls with 14 fours and a six. The best bowler for India C was Anshul Kamboj who picked 8/69 from his 27.5 overs. India C were 63/1 from 17 with Ruturaj Gaikwad batting on 24 with Rajat Patidar on 26.
