Mumbai skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first to make use of the overcast conditions in Bengaluru. On the first ball of the 14th over, Shivam Dube bowled a slower delivery to Hardik Pandya. The 31-year-old tried to glance the ball to the leg side and only succeeded in giving Dube an easy return catch.

Fans who had come to watch the big names gave Pandya a huge ovation as he came out to bat. Hardik Pandya surprisingly was pushed to number six after having batted at the top of the order in the previous matches. The move failed as Hardik was out for just five runs with one four in his knock and having faced six deliveries.

Mumbai bowlers show their dominance against Baroda

Put into bat first, Baroda openers Abhimanyu Singh and Shaswat Rawat added 23 runs for the opening wicket. Mohit Avasthi got the first wicket of the day when Atharva Ankolekar took the catch to dismiss Abhimanyu Singh for 9. The latest RCB signing, Krunal Pandya, came out to bat at number 3 and scored 30 runs from 24 balls with 4 hits to the fence.

The 50-run stand for the 2nd wicket was broken when Krunal was caught behind by Hardik Tamore off Suryansh Shedge. Bhanu Pania was the next to go when he mistimed a shot to be caught by Iyer to give Ankolekar his first wicket. Tanush Kotian then struck a huge blow when he castled Shaswat Rawat for 33 off 29 balls.

After the fall of Hardik Pandya, it was the turn of Vishnu Solanki, who was out for 6 and caught and bowled by Shedge. Shivalik Sharma and Atit Sheth then added 49 runs for the 7th wicket in just 27 balls. Sharma was not out on 36 off 24 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Sheth scored 22 off 14 balls with 2 fours and a six to help Baroda reach 158.
