The former Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan lost his cool during the final day’s play of the first Test vs Pakistan. The incident happened in the first ball of the 33rd over as Shakib Al Hasan came in to bowl to Mohammad Rizwan.

The Pakistani wicketkeeper was seen around the field to check for potential gaps. This is when Shakib Al Hasan threw the ball on the full towards Litton Das over Rizwan’s head.

This act from Shakib Al Hasan didn’t win him any fans as the umpire Richard Kettleborough was seen having a word with the veteran Bangladeshi player. Shakib Al Hasan for his part put up his hand and was quick to tender his apology.

Bangladesh on the cusp of huge Test win

It was an amazing final day for the Bangladeshi side who are yet to win a Test match in Pakistan. The visitors had dismissed 6 Pakistani batters before lunch with the home still trailing by 9 runs.

Hasan Mahmud and Nahid Rana dismissed Shan Masood (14) and Babar Azam (22) to leave Pakistan at 66/3. Shakib Al Hasan then dismissed the dangerous Saud Shakeel for a four-ball duck after the batter had scored a century in the first Test.

The arrival of Mohammad Rizwan saw 37 runs being scored in 6 overs as the Bangladeshi bowlers looked out of depth. That dangerous stand was broken by Shakib when he had Abduallah Shafique out for 37.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz struck the biggest blow as he had Agha Salman out for a first-ball duck caught by Shadman Islam. The off-spinner then got the wicket of Shaheen Afridi to reduce Pakistan to 111/7 still trailing by 6 runs with just three wickets left.

At the time of writing, Pakistan were 115/7 still needing 2 runs to make Bangladesh bat again. Mohammad Rizwan was batting on 26 runs having played 33 balls with 4 boundaries. Naseem Shah was keeping him company on three runs having batted 8 balls. Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz were the best bowlers for the visitors with two wickets each.
