Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan's life is full of controversies and his time it's huge. He is not accused of murder, and a case has been filed against him in Bangladesh. According to a report by the Dhaka Tribune, the case was reportedly filed by Rafiqul Islam, who lost his son Rubel on August 7 during the protests in Bangladesh.
Rubel was a part of the rally when he was shot in the chest and abdomen, and was rushed to the hospital. However, the doctors couldn't save him, and he died on the same day. Hence, his father filed a complaint with the Adabor police station in Dhaka and named Shakib likely to be the 28th accused. Moreover, he also filed a complaint against popular Bangladeshi actor Ferdous Ahmed and named him the 55th accused.
Shakib and Ahmed were a part of the Awami League MPs in the parliament. The name of the former prime minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina was also involved in this case. Rafiqul has filed a complaint against 500 unidentified people who participated in the rally. This wasn't something that Shakib might have expected while playing cricket. He is currently in Pakistan, playing a Test series against Bangladesh. This news would have been traumatizing for him and the team.
I am not thinking about his political career: Shanto
Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto has clarified in the media his stance regarding Shakib Al Hasan's recent case and said that it wouldn't distract him during the ongoing Test match against Bangladesh. Shakib wasn't present in Bangladesh when the rally happened, but his involvement in the case was due to his political career. However, he has gotten permission from the government to participate in the ongoing series.
"He has played this game for so long, so he knows his role and how to prepare himself. I am not thinking about his political career," said Najmul Hossain Shanto.
