Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is currently in Bengaluru playing against New Zealand in the 1st Test match. Sarfaraz Khan and Rishabh Pant have made sure that the visitors bat again after going past the 356-run lead. During the game, Rohit was seen walking to the dressing room when a fan called out.

The fan in question asked which team will Rohit play for during IPL 2025. India’s skipper looked at the fan and asked “Kaunsa chaiye bol”. The fan in question replied with “RCB aa jao yaar”. Rohit though was seen making his way back to the pavilion after his short interaction with the fan.

According to reports, Rohit Sharma is set to be retained by Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2025. The five time champions have recently sacked Mark Boucher and appointed Mahela Jayawardene. The former Sri Lankan skipper was at the helm of affairs when MI won the titles in 2017, 2019, and 2020.

VVS Laxman praises Rohit Sharma for his captaincy skills

Former Indian batting superstar VVS Laxman was addressing an event in Mumbai recently. The 49-year-old said “For leaders, it's humanly impossible not to make mistakes. We won the toss and we elected to bat first and it was counterproductive (because) we were bowled out for 46,"

VVS Laxman also said “Who went to the press conference? It was Rohit Sharma. He accepted that 'yes, I misread the wicket'. Leaders take that ownership of their decisions." Rohit had famously come out to address the media after India’s miserable showing in 1st innings and took the blame upon himself.

“It's not necessary that every time the decisions are right, but you take the ownership and then whenever the team doesn't do well, you go and face the flak. Whenever the team does well, you promote the guy who actually requires that recognition and that limelight," further opined VVS Laxman

Lauding the leadership skills of Rohit, the former India star also said “Great leaders are the best performers in a particular team, classical example is Rohit Sharma. What he has done, the way he's leading the Indian team, is just phenomenal,"
