WATCH: Rohit Sharma presents Mohammed Siraj special ring for his contributions to India’s win in T20 World Cup

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma gave pacer Mohammed Siraj a special ring for his amazing contributions in the T20 World Cup 2025. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) put out a short video where the two crickets could be seen interacting. Mumbai Indians (MI) are set to take on Gujarat Titans (GT) in a key IPL 2025 game at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday.

Rohit Sharma could be heard saying, “This is for Mohammed Siraj, we missed you at the function, played a vital role in our T20 campaign. So I am proudly presenting him a very special ring, which was made for all of us. Unfortunately, Siraj wasn’t there so I would like to present it to Mr. Siraj.” The 31-year-old pacer had a smile on his face when Rohit gave him the ring as the two players shared a hug. 

Siraj played three matches in the T20 World Cup and picked one wicket. Kuldeep Yadav then replaced the pacer in the second half of the campaign. India won their second T20 World Cup by beating South Africa in the finals. After this game, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja called time on their T20I career. 

Mahela Jayawardene reveals reason behind playing Rohit Sharma as impact player

Former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma has finally found his form with the bat after a slow start to the season. With three fifties in four games, Rohit has been able to finally give his fans a lot to cheer about. Many have questioned the reason behind Rohit coming in as an impact player. 

Mumbai Indians coach Mahela Jayawardene was quoted by NDTV as saying “No, it wasn't at the start. Obviously, Rohit was on the field in some of the games. But if you look at the composition of the team, most of the guys are doing dual roles; most of them are bowling. At the same time, some of the venues need boundary runners, you need guys with speed and all that so that also comes into play.”

During the course of his interaction with the media, MI’s coach also said that Rohit was nursing a slight injury that was sustained during the Champions Trophy 2025. “Ro was also nursing a niggle from the Champions Trophy so we wanted to make sure that we don't push him too hard, and we have managed that while his batting is the most important thing."
