Young Rajasthan Royals (RR) cricket sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi didn’t show any sign of nerves in the IPL 2025 game against Gujarat Titans (GT). Needing 210 runs to win the game, the home team RR opened with Yashasvi Jaiswal and young Suryavanshi as Mohammed Siraj opened the bowling. Jaiswal got things with a single as Siraj bowled two wide balls before delivering a dot ball.

In the third ball of the opening over, Siraj bowled a full ball that swung over the long-on region for a six. It was a huge hit to get off the mark for the 14-year-old who has been impressing everyone with his talents. Mohamed Siraj could only turn back in disbelief after the ball travelled 90 meters over the rope.

Batting first, Gujarat Titans amassed 209 runs from their 20 overs for the loss of four wickets. With his 50-ball 84, Shubman Gill led the way with the bat for the visiting side. RR’s former star Jos Buttler rubbed salt into the wounds with his unbeaten 50, which came off just 25 balls.

The first over of the RR innings saw 11 runs being scored as the home fans finally found their voice. Veteran pacer Ishant Sharma was given the task of bowling the second over, and there was massive drama in the very first ball. Yashasvi Jaiswal went for a huge hit and didn’t time the ball well, and threw his head down in sadness at his impending dismissal.

Jos Buttler called for the catch but dropped the chance to deny Ishant Sharma a dream start to his spell. Jaiswal made the bowler pay when he hit Sharma for a six in the last ball of the over as RR raced to 19 for no loss after two overs. There was more punishment in store as Jaiswal hit Siraj for three fours in the third over.

If RR are to win on Monday, they will register their third success of the season. The Royals are second from bottom in the table with four points from nine games. GT, on the other hand, need to win the game to go top of the IPL points table.
