Rishabh Pant is celebrating his 27th birthday on Friday. Ever since his debut, Pant has been one of the most loved members of Team India. His daredevil-like approach to the game has won him fans not just in India but also across the world. His best moment came during the Australian tour of 2020/21.

India went into the Gabba Test with the series tied at 1-1. No team had beaten the home team at Gabba. Australia batted first and scored 369 as the visiting side responded with 336 on the board. Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur had both scored fifties to bring India back into the team.

Mohammed Siraj picked his maiden fifer in Test cricket as Thakur picked 4 wickets. This meant that Australia were bowled out for 294 in the 2nd innings with an overall lead of 327. India lost Rohit Sharma early but Cheteshwar Pujara and Shubman Gill then added 114 runs for the 2nd wicket. Skipper Ajinkya Rahane came in a scored a quick 24 to set the tone for an assault post-Tea.

Rishabh Pant's show leaves Australia stunned

Nathan Lyon is a dangerous spinner in any track but on the 5th day, he created one huge chance. Rishabh Pant tried to give Lyon the charge and was beaten in the flight of the ball. Tim Paine fumbled the chance as the stumping chance went missing to give India a huge slick of luck.

This is all Pant needed as he went on to get into the groove. The youngster played all shots in the book as India came closer to the target. Mayank Agarwal, Washington Sundar, and Shardul Thakur came and went as India were closer to the target.

Navdeep Saini came out to bat at the fall of Thakur’s wicket despite suffering from an hamstring injury. With just under 3 overs to go, Josh Hazlewood tried to bowl a fuller ball to Pant who took it on the full toss. The ball was hit down the ground as the ball sped to the boundary for four runs and Indian celebrated a famous win.
