Rohit Sharma's fifty lights up India’s chase in CT2025 finals

India needed 252 runs to win the Champions Trophy 2025 trophy and Kyle Jamieson saw Rohit get things started in style. The Indian skipper pulled the pacer deep into the stands for a huge six as nine runs came off the first over. William O Rourke then gave 13 runs from his first over as India raced to 22 for no loss from two overs.

After few quiet overs, both Indian batters decided to up the ante as they took the Kiwi bowlers on. Rohit in particular hit the pacers over the top with ease to show his class with the bat. Nathan Smith was smashed for 14 runs in the eight over by Rohit as India’s skipper reached 47 off 35 balls.

The fifty came on the first ball of the 11th over as the massive Indian contingent in the stands gave him huge ovation. Seeing his skipper go for runs, Shubman Gill didn’t hold back as he started to break the shackles. India reached their century in the 17th over, making a great start to the chase.
