Indian captain Rohit Sharma looked fit when he came in to bat in the second innings of the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025 game against New Zealand. However, in between the fourth over, he called the physio as he wasn't feeling well. He held his stomach and was taking Shubman Gill's help to walk. The game was halted for a few minutes, and when it began, the skipper looked fine. At that time, Rohit's wife, Ritika Sajdeh, and their daughter looked worried while sitting in the stands.
He has given a stunning start to the innings, which is much needed since they have to chase down 252 runs in 50 overs. India, who bowled well in the first innings, will be dependent on the batters to win the tournament. After showcasing some brilliant skills throughout the game, losing one game would be quite disappointing. Until now, Rohit and Shubman Gill are carrying the game pretty well.

The next batters in line are Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya. While the batting looks set, the game will still depend upon the top-order batters for their contributions. New Zealand have some good bowlers as well who can take wickets in crunch situations.
Why is this even a question? Sourav Ganguly
India's former captain, Sourav Ganguly, seemed frustrated when reporters asked him about Rohit Sharma's retirement during an interview. Ganguly replied, saying that he would play for a few more years as he was in terrific form and had the ability to win some more games.
"Why is there talk of Rohit Sharma's retirement? Why is this even a question? He won the World Cup just a few months ago. I don't know what the selectors are thinking, but Rohit is playing very well. India is far better than New Zealand. India played in the 2023 World Cup finals, won the 2024 T20 World Cup, and they are still unbeaten in this Champions Trophy. The same team will play," said Sourav Ganguly.
