Ravichandran Ashwin got a taste of his own medicine during the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) match between Nellai Royal Kings and Dindigul Dragons on Sunday (July 28). The Dragons skipper was warned for a 'Mankad' attempt by the Royal Kings bowler, which is an incident that left the commentary box and the internet in splits.

The Indian off-spinner never hesitates to point out loopholes in the rules of cricket. He has been vocal about running out non-strikers for leaving the crease early and has done that multiple times. However, in a hilarious incident, Ashwin found himself on the receiving end of a warning for the same offence.

During the 15th over of the first innings, left-arm spinner Mohan Prasath stopped his run-up midway after noticing non-striker Ashwin stepping out of his crease. The move amused the commentators who couldn't stop laughing. The bowler was seen having a small conversation with the umpire before turning up for his next delivery.

However, in the replay, it was shown that Ashwin had his bat inside the crease. The all-rounder would have escaped even if the bowler had hit the stumps. The incident reminded fans of Ashwin’s similar attempt against England’s Jos Buttler in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019.
