The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to meet with the franchise owners ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on July 31st. The meeting concerns the retention policy and several other things which are yet to be discussed before the mega auction. As per reports, the BCCI will increase the retentions to five or six per team.

Apart from this, the RTM or the Right to Match card policy remains undecided. According to reports, the RTM card could be zero as well. Also, the Impact Sub-rule might continue. If the owners will talk against the rule, the management might remove it.

However, if the majority of the owners will agree to the Impact Sub-rule, it will continue in the upcoming season. The meeting will be conducted in the Wankhede Stadium complex in Mumbai, as informed by the IPL CEO Hemang Amin. After the meet-up, all the information will be shared with the fans.

India's former batting coach, Vikram Rathour, spoke about the controversies related to the ODI World Cup 2023 pitch, where India lost the game against Australia. People talked a lot about how the pitch was different in the finals which was false. He also spoke about how luck favoured the Aussies.

"I’ve heard this story that WC Final pitch was different, which I don't agree with at all. We expected it to get slower, which it didn't. You need a little luck, Australia were luckier than us and played better cricket," said Vikram Rathour as quoted by Sportstar.
