Mi vs LSG: Ravi Bishnoi six vs Bumrah Photograph: (X)
Former Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Mumbai Indians won their fifth game in a row on Sunday in front of their home fans. Hardik Pandya and his side beat Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 55 runs to win their sixth game of the season. Jasprit Bumrah was the best bowler of the day with figures of four for 22 from his four overs. Ravi Bishnoi lit up the game with his antics that even made Rishabh Pant laugh.
The incident occurred in Jasprit Bumrah’s final over of the game. Ravi Bishnoi swung Bumrah over the fence for a six to give LSG fans something to cheer about. Once the shot was played, Bishnoi could be seen fist pumping, looking at Bumrah as the latter turned back with a smile on his face.
Rishabh Pant, who was sitting in the dugout with mentor Zaheer Khan, began to chuckle at what he was witnessing. Even Zaheer Khan broke into a smile on a day when nothing went right for LSG against his former side. Lucknow were all out for 161 on the final ball of the innings when Boult dismissed Digvesh Rathi for one.

Fifties from Ryan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav helped the Mumbai Indians post a huge total of 215 on the board. Rickelton scored his 58 runs off 32 balls with the help of four sixes and six hits to the fence. Yadav, on the other hand, was at his aggressive best, with his 54 runs coming off 28 balls.
The best batter for LSG was Ayush Badoni, who scored 35 off 22 balls, while Mitchell Marsh scored 34 off 24 balls. Nicholas Pooran gave LSG the much-needed early impetus with the bat with his 15-ball 27 runs. Will Jacks then changed the game in MI’s favour with the wickets of Pooran and Pant in just three balls.
Mumbai Indians now head to Rajasthan to take on the Royals in their next game. Lucknow will head to Dharamshala to take on Punjab Kings in a key encounter. Will Jacks was named the player of the match for his 29 runs from 21 balls and game-changing two wickets with the ball.
