It was during this time that Ramiz Raja hilariously called the tournament ‘IPL’. This gaffe wasn’t missed by eagle-eyed social media fans who posted the video online. For the first time, both IPL and PSL are being held simultaneously. PSL 2025 had to face a delayed start due to Pakistan being busy with the Champions Trophy and the subsequent tour of New Zealand.

Speaking about the game on Tuesday, it was Multan Sultans who ran out winners by 33 runs. Yasir Khan with 87 runs led the batting charts, Usman Khan (39), and  Mohammad Rizwan (32) were the major contributors. Iftikhar Ahmed’s unbeaten 40 off 18 balls helped Multan reach 228 on the board.

In reply, Lahore could manage only 195 on the board and lost the game by 33 runs. Veteran Zimbabwean star Sikandar Raza was the best batter with 50 not out from 27 balls. Sam Billings played well to score 43 off 23 balls, and opener Fakhar Zaman gave Lahore a flying start with 32 off 14 balls. Ubaid Shah was the best bowler for Multan with figures of 3/37 from four overs.

Mohammad Amir bids goodbye to international cricket again

Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir has called time on his international career once again. The 33-year-old was part of the T20 World Cup last year, which saw Pakistan get knocked out in the league stages. Amir is currently playing for Quetta Gladiators in the PSL 2025 tournament.

The left-arm pacer during his recent chat on GEO news said,“After the T20 World Cup ended, no one even talked to me, no one told me about any plans. A wise man needs no further explanation. If I’m not in the plan, then I have to think about myself. Now I’ve made up my mind — thank you very much to international cricket,"

The 33-year-old also added, “When I came to play in the World Cup, I left my county contract. Whatever I played in the World Cup, I ended up spending more money myself. My trainer travelled with me, and I bore all those expenses personally. Anyway, that’s a separate matter,"
