PSL 2025: Babar Azam out for duck Photograph: (X)
Former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam was out for a second-ball duck in the PSL 2025 game between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi on Saturday. Veteran left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir got the wicket of Babar Azam in the final ball of the first over. The right-handed batter was beaten for pace and played the ball early as Rilee Rossouw took an easy catch.
Once the catch was completed, Amir could be seen pumped up in his celebrations. Chasing 217 runs to win the game, Peshawar were reduced to 45 for three at the end of six overs. After the fall of Babar Azam, the pair of Saim Ayub and Mohammad Haris added 30 runs for the second wicket in 14 balls.

Two balls later the leg-spinner struck again to get the wicket of England batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore for a duck with Saim Ayub batting with Hussain Talat at the end of the powerplay overs.
Babar Azam won the toss and put Quetta into bat first and saw the Gladiators openers Saud Shakeel and Finn Allen take the attack to the cleaners. Sufiyan Muqeem got the wicket of Allen as the Kiwi batter was out after scoring 53 off just 25 balls with five boundaries and four sixes.
Hasan Nawaz and Shakeel then added 63 runs for the second wicket in 51 balls. Skipper Saud Shakeel was out after scoring 59 runs, which came off 42 balls. Hasan Nawaz was the third wicket to fall as the batter was dismissed by Alzarri Joseph for 41 runs off 32 balls with two fours and three sixes.
