Former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid has been enjoying his time off the field after having stepped from the coaching position with the Indian team. The veteran cricketer has now returned to his former team, Rajasthan Royals, in the Indian Premier League as their Head Coach.

The 51-year-old was seen batting with the U-19 girls in Jaipur during the Rajasthan Royals Cup 2024 Final, which is an Inter-School Competition for U-19 Girls. Dravid played a few strokes that rolled back the time for all the Indian Cricket fans.

He was also, however, beaten by the young bowlers on a few occasions. Being the humble guy that he is, Dravid applauded the bowlers for a job well done.

In the meantime, Rajasthan Royals had a good retention day ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. They managed to retain some of their core players, with Sanju Samson, their skipper, at the helm. Apart from Sanju, they also retained Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel, and Sandeep Sharma.

While the inaugural champions have retained some key players, letting go of someone like Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal would not have been easy for them. Former Indian Cricketer Aakash Chopra has criticised the decision to not retain the English white-ball captain, citing that he could not understand the logic behind it.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra said, "I admit that Jos Buttler’s last two years haven’t been that good but when he played badly, he scored two centuries, and both in winning causes. Whenever Jos does well, he wins the match, but they let him go. It seems like Jos is their global brand ambassador. He plays for them for the Paarl Royals as well. So you assumed this partnership would continue. I was very surprised they let Jos go."
