Team India came to Gqeberha on the back of their 61-run win in the first game in Durban. Sanju Samson was out for a third ball duck just mere days after scoring a blistering 107 runs from 50 balls. The 29-year-old made room to hit the ball on the leg side as Marco Jansen uprooted his leg stump.

Abhishek Sharma who has been in focus for his poor form with the bat failed once more. The 24-year-old scored 4 runs from five balls before he was out to Gerald Coetzee caught by Jansen in the 2nd over. Coetzee was the same bowler who had dismissed Abhishek Sharma in the first game caught by Aiden Markram.

South Africa won the toss and for the second game in a row decided to bowl first. Reeza Hendricks made his way back into the playing XI. Patrick Kruger who had a game to forget in Durban was dropped for the encounter. India went in with the same team that won the first game.

Andile Simelane struck when he had Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav out LBW for just 4 runs. Suryakumar Yadav had scored 21 in the last game and his form in the last few games has been patchy with the bat.

Speaking at the toss, Aiden Markram said “We are going to bowl first again. With rain around, that's the obvious part. Hope the bowlers use the moisture. Kruger is out, Hendricks is in. We are not concerned about the outcome or result”

Suryakumar Yadav said “We wanted to bat first and play same brand of cricket, happy with the things in the last match. You always learn something or the other in every game. We want to continue the good habits. No changes, playing with the same XI”
