Match number 28 in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season is set to be a blockbuster affair. Rajasthan Royals (RR) are set to host Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). For the first time this season, the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur is set to host the game. Former RCB skipper Virat Kohli was seen interacting with RR coach Rahul Dravid before the game on Sunday.
RR’s social media team has put out a short video where Kohli could be seen running to greet Dravid who is on the wheelchair. The former RCB skipper was seen giving Dravid a huge hug in what was a heart-warming moment between the two. Kohli and Dravid first shared the dressing room as teammates for India and RCB for a while. Dravid then took over as the Indian coach and led the side to the T20 World Cup win last June.
Ahead of the game both sides will be looking to iron out the flaws as the tournament heads into the half-way stages. Rajasthan Royals had lost their last game to Gujarat Titans away from home. RCB on the other hand were outclassed by Delhi Capitals thanks to KL Rahul’s 93 not out which helped DC win by six wickets,
Dinesh Karthik shifts the blame onto pitches after loss to DC
Former India player and current RCB coach Dinesh Karthik has shown his displeasure towards the pitches that has been used at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. So far, RCB have played two games and lost both of them. Interestingly, on both occasions RCB batter first and went onto lose the game with few overs to spare.
ESPN Cricinfo, quoted Karthik as saying “I think the way T20 cricket is, the more runs are there, the better it is for the broadcaster, the better it is for the fans. They all like to see boundaries. In the first two games, we have asked for good pitches”. RCB lost the game despite having reduced DC to 58 for four at one stage.
Karthik also added, “But it's turned out in this way where it's been challenging to bat on, for sure. We will obviously have a chat with the curator. We trust him to do his job, and we will try and do the best of what we can." Currently RCB are fourth in the table heading into their game against the Royals on Sunday in Jaipur.
