Pretoria Capitals' opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz played a brilliant innings against the Durban Super Giants, scoring 89 runs in 43 balls in the SA20 2025 clash. He hit three boundaries and seven sixes but failed to take the team past the victory line. He also couldn't score his century, which was halted by the magnificent bowling by Noor Ahmed and a catch near the boundary line by Heinrich Klaasen.
While the catch was easy, Gurbaz was shocked to see himself playing one rash shot and throwing away his wicket right before scoring his century. He was in terrific form, having the best opportunity to score a century in the season's second game. Along with Gurbaaz, Will Jacks also played well, scoring 64 runs off 35 balls. He hit three boundaries and five sixes in his innings.

Our partnership was really good: Gurbaz
It was an unfortunate loss for the Pretoria Capitals against the Durban Super Giants, but the SA20 management acknowledged Rahmanullah Gurbaz's innings, and he was awarded the POTM award. Gurbaz was happy with the way he batted but quite disappointed with the loss. The Super Giants won the game by just two runs, getting four valuable points to start with.
"Our partnership was really good but a win provides satisfaction. I try to play well against him (Noor Ahmad) because he is one of the best bowlers. Unfortunately, he got me out today, and hopefully, I can hit him for six in the next game," said Gurbaz during the post-match presentation.
