SA20 2025 has begun in amazing fashion as massive crowds have thronged to the stadium. The game between the Durban Super Giants and Pretoria Capitals saw Kingsmead packed to the rafters as some of the biggest names in the world took to the field. One lucky fan in particular made it a night to remember as he walked with a huge stash of cash.

The incident occurred on the third ball of the 17th over with Eathan Bosch bowling to Kane Williamson. The South African seamer bowled a slower ball, which Williamson slog swept out of the ground into the grandstand. One fan took the catch and is set to walk away with the grand prize of 2 million South African Rand (approximately ₹9,00,000).

Once the catch was taken, the other fans jumped in unison and celebrated the moment. The fan in question was overcome with joy as he held onto the ball to celebrate the huge moment before throwing it back into the field of play. Even the commentators were overcome with joy and shared the moment live on air.

Keshav Maharaj won the toss and chose to bat first and saw his opening batters get off to a flying start. After scoring only 11 runs from the first two overs, 49 runs came from the next three overs. Matthew Breetzke and Bryce Parson sent the Capitals bowlers on a leather hunt before both fell to Senuran Muthusamy.

The South African veteran spinner was dismissed for 33, followed by Parson for 47. Quinton De Kock struggled with the bat as he scored 15 off 14 balls to become Muthusamy’s third wicket of the day. Liam Livingstone then got the big wicket of Heinrich Klaasen caught by Kyle Verreynne for a duck.

Former Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson was then joined by Wiaan Mulder as the pair began scoring runs at a quick pace. Williamson reached his fifty in style as he hit Jimmy Neesham for a huge six. By the end of the innings, Durban had reached 209/4 from their 20 overs, with Kane Williamson not out on 60 and Wiaan Mulder on 45 off 19 balls.
