Gujarat Titans (GT) bowlers kept Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) quiet in the 19th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) game on Sunday. The visitors picked wickets at regular intervals to put the hosts under pressure with the bat. Shubman Gill’s decision to bowl first after winning was vindicated with the way his bowlers fared.

In the fourth ball of the 14th over Heinrich Klaasen hit R Sai Kishore for a huge six straight down the ground. This brought up SRH’s 100 as the crowd found their voice. In the very next ball, Kishore bowling from over the wicket, deceived the batter with his pace. 

Klaasen heard the death rattle as he was dismissed bowled for 27 runs. His knock came off 19 balls with the help of two fours and the huge six in the previous. Sai Kishore was overjoyed with the wicket as he threw out his and ran in celebration. Fans were reminded of Shoaib Akhtar’s celebration as GT got a key wicket at a crucial juncture. 

Mohammed Siraj’s four wickets restricts SRH to 152

Local boy Mohammed Siraj was the main wicket taker with the ball for Gujarat Titans in the game against SRH on Sunday. The 31-year-old ended his day with figures of four for 17 from his four overs. Siraj had begun the day on 98 wickets and soon got to his 100th IPL wicket when he got the wickets of Travis Head (8) and Abhishek Sharma (18). 

The 31-year-old pacer then got the wickets of Aniket Verma for 18 and Simarjeet Singh for a golden duck to end his spell on a high. Skipper Pat Cummins’ cameo knock of 22 not out from nine balls helped his team reach 152 on the board. Cummins hit three fours and a six to give his team something to bowl at. SRH finished the innings at 152 for the loss of eight wickets from their 20 overs. 

Prasidh Krishna and Sai Kishore picked two wickets each to break the back of SRH’s batting. Mohammed Siraj was lauded for his bowling efforts by the commentators at the mid-innings break. Speaking during the break, the 31-year-old said “I am enjoying a lot. I have worked on my bowling and fitness, feeling fresh and I am enjoying bowling.”.
