Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj picked his 100th wicket in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Siraj, who began his career with SRH is currently with Gujarat Titans (GT) after spending seven seasons with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to bowl first against the under-fire SRH side who have lost five games in a row.

Australian batter Travis Head got off to a great start as he smashed two boundaries in the first over of the game. Siraj had the last laugh as he got the wicket of Head who was caught well by Sai Sudharsan. Wicket number 100 for Siraj came when Abhishek Sharma failed to clear the field and was caught by Rahul Tewatia for 18 runs.
Ishan Kishan became the third wicket to fall when he holed out to Ishant Sharma to give Prasidh Krishna his first wicket. Kishan was out after scoring 17 runs from just 14 balls with two hits to the fence. Both sides made one change as Washington Sundar came in for the Titans, while Jaydev Unadkat replaced Harshal Patel for SRH.

Pat Cummins had signaled his intent to play aggressive cricket during the toss after suffering three consecutive losses. Head began the first over with two powerful shots against Siraj to get the home fans going. Once Head was out to Siraj for eight runs, Kishan came out to bat.
Abhishek Sharma went on the attack as he hit Ishant Sharma for two successive fours. To show his intent. Siraj gave away just four runs from his second over before the fourth of the innings bowled by Sharma was hit for 13 runs. The veteran pacer came under severe punishment from Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan as the home team stepped on the gas.
At the end of the first time-out the hosts were batting on 58 having lost three wickets. Nitish Reddy was batting on eight from 13 balls while Heinrich Klaasen was batting on five runs. Former SRH star Rashid Khan had bowled two overs and gave away just ten runs to put more pressure on the hosts.
