33-year-old Karun Nair was the talk of the town among cricket fans after he was ignored by selectors from the Champions Trophy 2025 squad. The right-handed batter ended the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025 stint with 779 runs and an average of 389.5 with four centuries. In the finals, Nair was out after scoring 27 runs from 31 balls with four hits to the fence.
The incident occurred on the final ball of the 15th over with Prasidh Krishna bowling to his former Karnataka teammate. Krishna beat Nair for pace as the ball came back in to knock off-stump back. It was a sad end to the innings, as Vidarbha’s skipper had been leading the run-scoring charts with his tremendous batting.
