Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja showed class act in the 1st Test match between India and Bangladesh after the batting order collapsed. The timing has been exquisite for both batters as they scored a partnership of 100+ runs on the first day. While the top-order's performance was disappointing, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant did the damage control until lunch.

Post lunch, the batting line-up collapsed, putting pressure on the Chennai boys. Meanwhile, the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, is quite close to the hearts of both batters as Ashwin belongs to Chennai, and Jadeja has played IPL for CSK for a long time.

Hence, they are aware of the conditions and know the pitch's loopholes, allowing them to score runs confidently. The highlight of the game was Ashwin's attacking approach against Shakib Al Hasan. On the other hand, Jadeja has maintained a good pace as well.

Jadeja welcomed Shakib with a beautiful boundary over the fine leg. After one ball, Ashwin smashed a terrific six over deep midwicket. With these strokes, the batters casually broke the bowler's confidence. The Chennai boy hit two back-to-back boundaries off Shakib in the next over, which looked even more perfect. An old fan was seen giving a standing ovation from the stands after Ashwin hit the six on Shakib's ball.

India are heading towards a fine total on the board, with all-rounders flexing their batting skills. Meanwhile, Hasan Mahmud, Bangladesh's star bowler, who claimed four wickets, sent the top-order back to the pavilion within 40 runs in the first half of the game.

India's poor batting form continues

After 40 days, the Indian cricket team has returned to play a 2-match Test series against Bangladesh, where on the first day, the batters threw their wickets under 40 runs. The performance was quite embarrassing as the pressure fell on the young batters who managed it pretty well. Jaiswal scored 56 runs off 118 balls while Rishabh Pant scored 39 runs off 52 balls.

Senior players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul got out cheaply, which wasn't expected of them. Hasan Mahmud claimed four wickets and cleaned the top order with his excellent bowling. Now it's on the all-rounders to score some runs and get to a good total.
