Dindigul Dragons’ skipper and the former Indian great, Ravichandran Ashwin, lost his temper over the female umpire in the 5th game of the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League 2025 (TNPL 2025). It all happened when the Dragons took on the iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans at the Sri Ram College of Arts and Science Ground in Coimbatore.
The Tamizhans' skipper, Sai Kishore, won the toss and asked DD to bat first. Skipper R Ashwin and batter Shivam Singh came to open the innings of their side. On the fifth ball of the fifth over, Sai Kishore trapped Ashwin in front of the stumps and appealed for an LBW dismissal, followed by the umpire raising her finger in dismissal.
The umpire’s decision didn’t go well with Ashwin, and he looked agitated. However, the umpire didn’t get bothered much by Ashwin’s reaction, which led the latter to vent out his frustration by hitting his bat on his pads while walking back to the pavilion.
The video of Ashwin’s fuming reaction towards the umpire also went viral on social media as soon as it was shared on X (formerly Twitter).
