The left-handed batter was particularly severe on R. Sai Kishore, who was hit for 35 runs from his nine balls bowled in the game. Kishore was brought in to bowl the tenth over of the innings and the left-arm spinner ended up conceding 24 runs. Pooran got into the act and hit Kishore for a huge six on the first ball of the over. Aiden Markram then hit the bowler for a four on the third ball before turning over the strike to Pooran with a six.

Markram also reached his second successive fifty for LSG with that single. The final two balls of the over saw two more sixes being hit as Pooran raced to 37 off just 16 balls. It was the most expensive over bowled by Sai Kishore in this season of the IPL.

Needing 181 to win, LSG saw Rishabh Pant open the batting with Aiden Markram, with Mitchell Marsh missing the game. Pant and Markram added 65 runs for the first wicket in just 6.2 overs. LSG skipper got his best score of the season before he was out for 21, caught by Sundar off Prasidh Krishna.

The second wicket stand between Pooran and Markram was worth 58, which came in 29 balls. Prasidh got his second wicket of the game when he had Markram caught by Shubman Gill for 58 runs, which came off 31 balls with nine fours and a six. Rashid Khan then got the wicket of Pooran for 61 caught by Shahrukh Khan in the second ball of over number 16. The winning runs were hit by Ayush Badoni as the Titans saw their winning run get halted.

Rishabh Pant expressed his happiness at the end of the game when he said, “Definitely feeling happy. We just follow the same path and believe in our ability and just take one game at a time. We are happy to have Nicholas Pooran in our team. You want someone like that to be in our team rather than the opposition. The way he has been batting is phenomenal.”
