WATCH: Ravichandran Ashwin hits six on last ball to take Dindigul Dragons to finals of TNPL 2024

After smashing a six on the last ball, Ravichandran Ashwin led the Dindigul Dragons towards the much-awaited finals to be played on August 4.

Ravichandran Ashwin proved the quote, 'Leading from the front,' with his outstanding performance in Qualifier 2 of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2024 against the IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans. After smashing a six on the last ball, Ashwin led the Dindigul Dragons towards the much-awaited finals. Now, they will play against the Lyca Kovai Kings on August 4. 

While chasing an easy score of 109 runs, Ravi Ashwin came up to open the match along with Vimal Khumar. Both batters gave a brilliant start to the innings but lost Khumar towards the end of the match.

Ashwin scored a brilliant 69 runs off 30 balls, including 11 boundaries and three sixes. It was an amazing sight for the viewers as they had never seen Ashwin come up the order and smash the bowlers. He had performed well with the bat and the ball but P. Vignesh won the Player of the Match award.

P Vignesh stole the show for Dindigul Dragons

On winning the toss, Dindigul Dragons decided to bowl first. Their decision went in their favour as the bowlers were in a roll. P Vignesh, Varun Chakravarthy, and Suboth Bhati were exceptional with the ball as they dismantled the batting attack of the IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans. 

P Vignesh claimed three wickets, and the other two bowlers took two wickets each. They stopped the Tamizhans in just 108 runs, with no batter touching the 30-run mark. Dragons won the match comfortably by nine wickets thanks to Ravi Ashwin's 69 runs off 30 balls.
