Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna justified his selection for the SCG Test match with two wickets in the first innings. The right-arm pacer got India a massive wicket just after lunch when he dismissed Australian wicketkeeper and batter Alex Carey for 21 runs. It was a timely wicket as Carey and debutant Beau Webster had added 41 runs for the 6th wicket in 64 balls.
Krishna came round the wicket and bowled a full ball to Carey who went for the drive. The batter was beaten for pace as the ball crept in between the huge gap between bat and pad. Indian players let out a huge roar of delight as the middle stump took a battering to send Carey back to the hut for 21 off 36 balls with the help of four boundaries.

28-year-old Prasidh Krishna is playing the first match of the series coming in for Akash Deep who was ruled out due to stiff back. The right-arm pacer hadn’t played the first four games of the series with Harshit Rana and Akash Deep being preferred over him.
Sydney Test match witnessing intriguing battle of wits
Australia started the day with Marnus Labuschagne coming to replace Usman Khawaja. The veteran batter was out on the last ball of the day to Bumrah as KL Rahul took an easy catch. It was the stand-in skipper who got things going with the huge scalp of Marnus Labuschagne for two runs
The Australian batter was caught behind by Pant as the Indian fielders appealed but the umpire didn’t give the batter out. DRS revealed that there was a thick off Labuschagne’s bat to give India their first wicket of the day. Sam Konstas entertained the crowd with a few unorthodox shots including a reverse scoop off Bumrah.
Mohammed Siraj then got Sam Konstas out for 23 caught by Yashasvi Jaiswal in the gully region. This was followed by the wicket of Travis Head for four runs caught in the slips by Rahul to give Siraj two wickets in a single over. Steve Smith then upped the ante as he began batting aggressively to reach 33 off 56 balls. Krishna got Smith’s wicket just before lunch to leave the batter five runs short of reaching the 10,000-run mark.
