Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) IPL 2025 game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is witnessing host star names on the field. Off the field, the original ‘Thala’ of Chennai, film star Ajith Kumar, made his heroic entry to watch the game. It is to be noted that Ajith Kumar is also called ‘Thala’ by his fans, just as MS Dhoni is.

Once the veteran actor was seen, there was a massive roar in the stands, and Ajith Kumar waved back to the crowd. Ajith was seen sitting in the stands near the VIP enclosure with his family. On the field, it was CSK who were asked to bat first after Pat Cummins won the toss in a key encounter.

Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers had taken three key wickets for 50 runs at the end of six overs. Mohammed Shami gave his side a dream start with the ball when he got the wicket of Shaik Rasheed for a golden duck. This was the third time that Shami had got a wicket off the first ball of the game in IPL.

After the fall of Shaik Rasheed, it was Sam Curran and Shaik Rasheed who came together to add 39 runs for the second wicket. It was Ayush Mhatre who was looking the most dangerous out of the two, with six boundaries in his knock of 30 that came off 19 balls. Pat Cummins struck and got the wicket of Mhatre caught by Ishan Kishan on the third ball of the sixth over.

Sam Curran was out for nine runs off ten balls as he became Harshal Patel’s first wicket. Ravindra Jadeja and Dewald Brevis added 27 runs for the fourth wicket in four overs before Jadeja was bowled by Mendis for 21 runs. Brevis, who is making his IPL debut for CSK, hit 42 runs from 25 balls with four sixes and one four in his knock.

MS Dhoni came out to bat to a huge cheer and got his innings going with a boundary. The veteran CSK skipper was out caught by Abhishek Sharma at point to give Harshal his third wicket of the game.
