Indian skipper Rohit Sharma’s fortune with the toss has been one of the top headlines in the cricketing corridors for the last couple of ODIs. Notably, he has lost the tosses in all the matches India have played in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025, including the ongoing Final clash against New Zealand.
In the same line of events, skipper Sharma came up with a hilarious reaction after he lost the toss ahead of the final of the tournament against New Zealand. Rohit was seen in a joking mood while gesturing towards his teammates and coach Gautam Gambhir after losing the toss and being asked to bowl first.
“No toss for me man, no toss,” Rohit was heard saying to his teammates with his hands raised and a big sarcastic smile on his face. The video of this moment also went viral on social media as soon as it was shared by ICC on their official Instagram handle.
Here’s the video:
Speaking of the action of the current final between India and New Zealand, the Kiwis batted first after winning the toss and posted a total of 251 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell scored two crucial half-centuries, scoring 63 and 53 runs, respectively. Besides these two, Rachin Ravindra and Glenn Phillips also played the crucial knocks of 37 and 34 runs, respectively.
Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav also scalped 2 wickets each, alongside a wicket each bagged by Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja.
While chasing the target, India have scored 51 runs without any loss in 7.2 overs, having skipper Rohit Sharma and his deputy Shubman Gill there in the middle with the individual scores of 39 and 7 runs, respectively, at the time of filling this.
The Men in Blue are aiming for their third title in the history of the Champions Trophy since the tournament’s inception in 1998.
