Tempers frayed during the Syed Mushtaq Ali quarter-final game between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh in Bengaluru on Wednesday. Delhi batter Ayush Badoni was involved in a verbal battle with former Delhi teammate Nitish Rana during the game. The moment got so intense that the on-field umpire had to step in between the two players.
The incident occurred in the 13th over which was bowled by Nitish Rana. Just as Rana was about to bowl, Badoni moved away at the final moment. This didn’t sit down well with the bowler. In the very next ball, Badoni took a strike and as he was making his way to the bowler’s end, Rana seemed to say something to the batter.

Young batter Ayush Badoni didn’t hold back as he also replied to the former KKR star. It is to be noted that Nitish Rana began his cricket career with Delhi before moving to Uttar Pradesh. The left-handed batter was also involved in a verbal battle during IPL 2023 against Hrithik Shokeen during the Mumbai Indians vs KKR game.
