Australian players are getting ready for the huge home season with the series against India set to be one of huge highlights. Spinner Nathan Lyon is turning out for New South Wales in the Sheffield Shield against South Australia. During the course of the game Nathan Lyon was involved a rather hilarious moment.
Cricket Australia posted the incident on Instagram where the ball was lost in the shrubs in Sydney. The batter had hit the ball deep into the shrubs as the ball was lost. Nathan Lyon along with former Aussie star and current NSW captain Moises Henriques went looking for the ball.
Nathan Lyon instead of retrieving the red-ball could be spotted finding a white-ball. fans turned it ‘Gully Cricket’ moment as the video is going viral on social media. What was more hilarious was that when the local stadium authorities joined the search they found few white balls in the shrubs.
The video also showed few other New South Wales stars along with the local cricket authorities search for the ball. By the end of the video the ball wasn’t yet retrieved but the moment has become a huge hit amongst the fans.

New South Wales are currently playing South Australia in their shield game in Sydney. Batting first the home team scored 366 with Sam Kontas top scoring with 152 while Josh Phillipe scored 56. South Australia were all out for 206 to give the home team a lead of 106 runs.
Nathan Lyon picked 5/47 from his 24.3 overs which included the wicket of teammate Alex Carey for 90. The Aussie wicket keeper scored his runs off 85 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes. Travis Head hit 30 off 44 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes as he fell to Tanveer Sangha.
In the 2nd innings NSW scored 282/6 before declaring their innings with Sam Konstas scoring his 2nd ton of the game. Skipper Moises Henriques scored 52 with the bat to help give South Australia target of 389 runs.
At the time of writing, South Australia were placed at 220/5 still needing 169 runs to win the game. Lyon had picked 3/75 from his 29 overs with the scalp of Travis Head for 10 being the main wicket. Alex Carey had scored a brutal ton as he hit 111 off 158 balls with 16 fours before falling to Tanveer Sangha.
