Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Lucknow Super Giants by 55-runs in their key IPL 2025 game on Sunday afternoon. Wankhede Stadium witnessed young children come to witness their favorite stars in action. Nita Ambani who is the owner of MI franchise has made it a yearly tradition to have underprivileged children come to the stadium as a part of Education and Sports for all program.

The franchise put out a short video of some portraits made by young children that were shown to the players. Suryakumar Yadav could be seen starting the video and saying, “Today we are going to see the portraits that the young children have drawn for us”. Jasprit Bumrah could be seen saying, “This is Ryan Rickelton here, with his trademark shot here.”

Young children had also drawn portraits of MI skipper Hardik Pandya and pacer Jasprit Bumrah. One of the young fans had also drawn Tilak Varma’s iconic celebration, which Rickelton rightly pointed out and said “he did that against us, when he got a 100 against us (South Africa) in Johannesburg.

The best part of the video was when Suryakumar Yadav got to see a painting of his match winning catch in the T20 World Cup final. The 34-year-old had a smile on his face and said, “My one shoe is missing”. Rohit Sharma, Will Jacks, and rest of the squad were seen mightily impressed with the efforts taken by the young fans.

Hardik Pandya expressed happiness after win over LSG

The win on Sunday over LSG was the first for MI in the league stages of the IPL against Rishabh Pant led side. In the previous seven games, LSG had won six times with MI winning just once. This win came in the 2023 season in the playoff stages of the tournament.

Speaking at the end of the game, skipper Hardik Pandya expressed his delight over the win and said, “The momentum which we had and carrying that momentum and everyone has been chipping. Everyone kept taking the chances. At the end it looked like we have lost of a few wickets. But Bosch and Naman came in and chipped in. We knew when to kill the game and we were awesome. The good teams are made of that when everyone comes in and chips in."
